Discrimination causes disproportionate harm on LGBTQ people of color, according to a research brief by the What We Know Project at Cornell University.
Notable findings include that LGBTQ people are more likely than non-LGBTQ people to be people of color (POCs); LGBTQ POCs are more likely to face discrimination than non-LGBTQ people and LGBTQ white people; Black LGBT Americans are more likely to suffer economic insecurity than Black non-LGBT Americans; and LGBTQ POCs have disproportionate odds of suicidality, linked to discrimination.
